To perform a professional suspension upgrade on a Land Rover Defender, you need much more than just springs and shock absorbers. An incorrectly performed suspension modification can lead to the loss of the operating license and even cause damage to your Land Rover Defender. A Defender suspension from ENGAGE4X4 is designed to significantly increase the off-road capability.
Caution with incomplete Defender chassis
If you lift the Defender with longer suspension springs, the front axle shifts to the left. In short, the correct fit of the front axle is no longer guaranteed. This is where the adjustable ENGAGE4X4 Panhard bar (with TÜV parts certificate) comes into play. Further the deflection angles of the front and rear cardan shafts change. This causes the annoying vibrations in the drivetrain. These are corrected by the installation of ENGAGE4X4 traction & thrust rods (with TÜV parts certificate) to correct the caster front & rear axle. Since this measure is not sufficient for the Land Rover Defender when the chassis is raised, reinforced double-jointed cardan shafts are also installed to prevent the load on the universal joints and the load on the transfer case.
Land Rover Defender 90 suspension with TÜV parts certificate
The chassis (suspension and shock absorbers) of your Land Rover is the link between the road or off road track and the suspension of your Land Rover Defender. They form the basis safety, ride comfort, as well as durability and extreme loads.
Defender suspension high loads
ENGAGE4X4 complete suspensions are completely TÜV tested and allow for a height increase of 30 to 65mm, depending on vehicle weight and characteristics. The ENGAGE4X4 "Expedition" suspension kit for the Defender allows a completely legal installation within the range of the STVZO. All safety-relevant suspension components are supplied with a TÜV parts certificate.
One chassis for all many applications
The ENGAGE4X4 Step 1 complete suspension kit for the Defender 90 is suitable for the following applications. The Step 1 kit is delivered with fully demountable and reinforced high performance shock absorbers with balance reservoir. The different application areas of the individual complete suspension kits for the Land Rover Defender are explained as follows.Expedition Complete Suspension Step 1
For occasional expeditions and trips to remote areas with increased total vehicle weight and higher roof loads such as roof racks or outer cage. The suspension is many times higher loadable than the original Land Rover (Genuine) suspension and comparable suspensions on the market. The shock absorbers can easily cope with long track runs under extreme conditions. The suspension has been successfully tested under extreme conditions on several desert rallies.
ENGAGE4X4 suspension springs Land Rover Defender
Progressive suspension springs with coil cut-off on the front axle. Allow your Defender so a 25% articulation of the front axle and thus a better entanglement compared to other chassis. For a perfect chassis tuning provide the springs on the front axle. Both front axle springs have been calculated with different wire thicknesses to the respective weight.
The rear axle springs are designed for higher payload to be able to absorb, the slightly progressive Auslgegung of the rear axle springs allow despite everything a much higher ride comfort with your Land Rover.

Often it is not done with four suspension springs and four shock absorbers. With Land Rover Defender suspension lift, the entire suspension geometry of your Land Rover Defender changes. All suspension lifts on a Land Rover Defender over 25 mm need a correction, all related components. Especially for the Land Rover TD4 models from the model years 2007 onwards, it is particularly important to carry out a correct suspension installation. Very quickly unpleasant vibrations occur in the drivetrain, which lead to consequential damage.
Land Rover Defender tie rods with 3° caster correction and TÜV
A good suspension for your Defender consists of: Tie rods with caster adjustment (front axle), push rods(rear axle), an adjustable Panhard rod, double cardan shafts and if necessary extended brake hoses. Possibly with adjustable shock absorbers reinforced damper domes (open) on the front axle. All parts should be supplied with a TÜV parts certificate, otherwise there may be liability problems in the event of an accident. The trailing arms of the Defender with caster correction are absolutely necessary for suspension lift over 25mm. We recommend to use only original or Superpro suspension bushings.

Polyurethane is a petroleum-based synthetic plastic available in many grades. Low-quality materials are often used in industrial applications. However, there are also extremely high-performance polyurethane materials. This is used in the high-performance bushings for the Land Rover Defender. It is a particularly temperature-resistant oil. It is also diesel resistant and enormously resilient to permanent deformation.
The Land Rover Defender high performance suspension bushing kit is designed to withstand particularly heavy off-road loads. Special vehicles that are regularly driven off-road and in the most adverse conditions require high quality heavy duty bushings to increase durability. These PU suspension bushings are made of a special polyurethane compound. The so-called hardness grade has been specially developed for extreme loads for the Defender.
Land Rover Defender high performance suspension bushing set complete
The field of application for the Defender is as versatile as its fans. With the high-performance suspension bushings, the improvement begins with the chassis handling to the improvement of durability under the toughest loads with overloaded vehicle in the most extreme off-road applications. Especially protected Land Rover Defenders in military use suffer from handling & durability problems under normal road driving due to the extremely high dead weight. The high performance bushings are ideal for long distance travel and vehicles with trailer operation. Steering becomes much more rigid and direct on the road. The tendency to roll is minimized. Road safety improves significantly and durability increases many times over for off-road applications.

The ENGAGE4X4 Expeditions complete suspension kit is the only completely TÜV tested suspension on the market. With springs and dampers it is unfortunately not done. When caving the Land Rover Defender, the entire suspension geometry changes. Without the adjustment by push and pull rods, Panhard rod, brake lines, etc., it can lead to significant safety risks or massive damage to the vehicle.
Defender complete suspension for Land Rover Defender 110 and 130
The Land Rover Defender suspension is one of the best series - off-road suspensions in the world. The modifications and conversions on the Land Rover Defender for travel, off road or expeditions also require the professional adjustment on the chassis of the Defender 110 or 130. The Expedition Kit from ENGAGE4X4 has been tested for a long time and fully tested by TÜV. The durability of the chassis is unsurpassed to date. The chassis was designed so that the entanglement increases by 25% compared to the standard chassis.
