The Expedition roof tent by ENGAGE4X4 was designed by our ENGAGE4X4 creative team with a lot of enthusiasm and always further developed based on travel experiences. It has been specifically tested on tougher off-road trips and with heavily loaded off-road vehicles. This allowed us to produce the ENGAGE4X4 roof tent with important details to the finished roof tent. Through decades of experience and testing other roof tents, we put all that knowledge into our ENGAGE4X4 roof tent and developed a modern, well thought out roof tent. Materials ENGAGE4X4 roof tent

In the ENGAGE4X4 roof tent, two adults and a toddler find sufficient and comfortable space, depending on their sleeping habits. The comfortable and high-quality cold foam mattress is chosen in height so that you will sleep comfortably on it. The upper material of the tent is made of breathable, waterproof as well as mold-resistant poly-cotton ripstop material. The choice of this material ensures excellent waterproofing. The seams are all double stitched and taped. The high quality zippers guarantee that no water enters. Because moisture in the tent is in any case unfavorable. The very strong zippers are designed for demanding use. The zippers have a thick coating of thermoplastic polyurethane and are airtight and watertight up to a water pressure of 500mbar. Therefore, the operation and the opening and closing is a little heavier, but still comfortable. These high-quality zippers are an important detail of a roof tent. They are constantly stressed and guarantee the high tightness of the ENGAGE4X4 roof tent and their durability.

Construction of the ENGAGE4X4 roof tent

The high-quality, flexible mounting frame made of aluminum convinces with its low weight and high bending stiffness. The Alufloor plate is enclosed in this frame as a substructure and fastener for the ENGAGE4X4 roof tent. This Alufloor panel is made with sandwich panels with aluminum honeycomb core and internal cover layers of fiberglass mesh and an outer cover layer. The important features of sandwich panels with honeycomb core are highly appreciated for off-road applications. The Alufloor panel is vibration damping and therefore no anti-drumming coating is necessary. Another advantage of the roof tent substructure is the excellent weather and long-term resistance of the material. High quality materials are very important here. Folding up and down puts a lot of stress on the roof tent. Therefore, our quality standards of ENGAGE4X4 are very high and important.

Additional details of the Overland roof tent

All around the ENGAGE4X4 Overland roof tent are separate zippers with entrance covers and mosquito nets. The additional raised "flysheet" provides shade while also providing extensive ventilation. This cools the sleeping area somewhat in extremely hot region. Thanks to the ingenious roof tent design, bedding and sleeping bags can be left in the tent when traveling. The included telescopic ladder can be easily adjusted to fit different vehicle heights. The interior is equipped with pockets and nets for clothes, books and miscellaneous items. Off-road lamps and flashlights can be attached.
