The 4340 high performance steel is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy steel known for its toughness and ability to achieve high strengths in the heat treated condition. It has very good fatigue resistance.This 4340 alloy can be heat treated to high strength values while maintaining good toughness, wear resistance and fatigue strength values, combined with good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and strength.
