What is important for a roof rack for off-road vehicles?

The most important criterion for a roof rack is the low weight. In Germany, most off-road vehicles are allowed to transport a maximum roof load of 75 KG on the roof including the carrier. Some competitor systems, for example, can already have a weight of 45 kg to 65 kg with a length of 280 cm. At these weights, a roof rack is virtually superfluous. Not only does the operating license of the vehicle expire, but also the fuel consumption increases as well as the load on the chassis and the chassis bushings multiplies many times over.
