A Defender does not have particularly powerful and good lighting from the factory. The H4 bulbs that are installed are long outdated and they are simply not state of the art. For example, the H4 bulbs are more susceptible to bumps and shocks, so they don't last as long as LED bulbs. They also consume significantly more energy than LED models. The brightness of H4 bulbs can also leave much to be desired, depending on the weather and terrain. Another major advantage besides the high illuminance of LEDs is that they are waterproof. As a disadvantage of the LED headlights must be mentioned that it is not as easy to replace on a long tour as a H4 bulb. However, it must be said that the LED lights simply fail much less often.
