The company 4WARD4X4 Equipment originally started as an independent Land Rover specialist in 2005 with a pure workshop operation. Another specialty was special conversions of Land Rover
Defender for various applications, such as trophy, off road, rally raid, film and expedition vehicles.

After several quality problems with various accessory manufacturers, 4WARD4X4 decided to launch its own brand ENGAGE4X4 in 2008. The aim was to design all Land Rover Defender products in-house and have them manufactured in Germany.This was followed in 2009 by the certification of the company 4WARD4X4, which made it possible to have a TÜV parts certificate issued for all products.
